The 100-Tab Syndrome
We have all been there. You start the day with a clean browser, and by 3 PM, you have 75 tabs open. You are afraid to close them because “you might need that information later.”
This tab hoarding is a symptom of a larger problem: a lack of trust in your own note-taking system.
How to Let Go
The best way to close a tab with confidence is to extract the value from it immediately.
- Read it now, or bookmark it properly. Use a read-it-later app if you genuinely plan to read it on the weekend.
- Leave a sticky note. If you are keeping a tab open just to remember a specific paragraph, use WebStickly to pin a note to it. Then, close the tab. You can always search your WebStickly dashboard later to find that exact note and the URL it belongs to.
- Declare bankruptcy. Every Friday at 5 PM, close all your tabs. If it was important, you will find it again.
Clear your browser, clear your mind.
